# How to create a new thread and reply in the forum

## Creating a new discussion

You can create a new discussion in the forum by clicking the "**New Discussion**" tab.

Be sure to make the title (Subject) as clear and specific as possible, so other participants can easily join the conversation. Use the toolbar to format your text as needed:

## Modifying a message

You can modify or add information to your message by clicking the yellow "**Modify**" button. If desired, you may also **provide a reason for the change**.

## Replying to a question by quoting the person

To reply to a question, we recommend using the "Quote" option in the toolbar to include the original question in your message.

To quote the person who posted the question, simply type the **@** symbol. This will display a list of all participants in the discussion. Select the appropriate person to quote in your reply.
