I've finished the MOOC and I still haven't got my badge. Why haven't I got my badge?
There are several reasons why you may not have received your badge:
1. The course does not issue badges.
You can check this information in the "Assessment and certification" section of the presentation page or the "Course info" page.
2. You have not obtained a sufficient score
The course teaching team sets a minimum score required to obtain a badge. This is indicated by the "Pass ..%" line on the progress graph:
If your score is below this threshold, you are not eligible for the badge (see There's an error in my grades - what should I do?).
3. You have not applied for a badge
To obtain your course badge, you need to apply for one for each course. This request is available in the course from a component provided for this purpose (Cf. How do I request my badge?).
For badges issued before the introduction of automation (in January 2024), there was a time limit for making your request. Once this time limit has passed, the application component is closed and it is no longer possible to apply for a badge.
No other document will be issued to certify your success. You can take a screenshot of your progress to show that you have followed and passed the course.
4. Badges have not yet been generated
Badges are generated automatically (since January 2024). Once you have requested a badge, if you are eligible, you will have to wait a few days for it to be generated.
5. Badges have already been generated (for badges generated before January 2024)
If you have reached the minimum score required AFTER the date on which the badges were generated, for badges not automatically generated before January 2024, it is normal for yours not to be available. In the case of a classic course (with a single wave of badge generation), you will have to wait for a future course session and redo the exercises to obtain the badge.
In the case of a self-paced course (see What is a self-paced course?). With the arrival of automation, your badge will be generated automatically.
6. Do you have access to the correct mailbox for the email address you entered to receive the badge?
We recommend that you check your inbox or, if applicable, your spam/junk mail box or an "Other" folder to find the e-mail containing the link to retrieve your badge (see How to fill in the badge request form).
Since January 2024, the badge can also be accessed from the "badge" section of the course. (Cf. Where can I find my open badge?).
7. Have you obtained a certificate or is this a certification course?
You will not receive a badge if you have already obtained a certificate for the same course.
Most certification courses do not offer a badge at the same time. However, since March 2024, the teaching team has been able to offer a badge and a certificate for the same course.
You can check this information in the "Assessment and Certification" section.
Note that, in the case of a course offering a badge and a certificate, obtaining the badge and the certificate are independent; you may be eligible for the badge without having validated your certificate and vice versa.
